1984 Catalina 36

Boondoggle is a custom Catalina 36 originally built in 1984 which has been the subject of a three year rebuild by a professional boatbuilder in Newport, and was only relaunched in January 2015.

She bears little resemblance to a stock Catalina 36 and has been transformed into a true bluewater cruiser with the intention of completing a circumnavigation, however due to unforseen circumstances, the owners plans have changed and Boondoggle is reluctantly for sale.

Repowered with a new diesel engine on improved engine beds, hand laid grp hull, keel rebedded with additional bolts, new skin fittings, new rudder, hull to deck joint redone - fully bolted and glassed together, new deck and cockpit with HD foam core, strengthened to take an inner stay, new mast by offshore spars, kicker with gas spring, new standing and running rigging, new furler, all lines led to cockpit, new guard rails, new saloon windows, hatches, port lights, ground tackle, liferaft.

Totally rewired and replumbed, new keel cooled refrigeration, battery charger and inverter, Spectra 12v DC watermaker.

New sails and canvas, a full suite of electronics including a plotter, AIS and satphone.

Beautiful eggshell blue hull paint, fresh varnish, new upholstery, the list goes on...
