Interior

Enter the main salon of Nootka from the aft deck and you step into a beautiful, bright and roomy living area with walls of windows and lovely teak wood paneling and parquet flooring. This salon is designed to be completely livable and perfect for entertaining a nice group of folks. A long L-shaped settee stretches along the port side and a coffee table extends to become larger. To starboard, you have two lovely chairs and a side table. Forward is a large U-shaped galley with a three-burner Princess electric stove/oven combo, a home-sized GE side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and lots of lighting, storage and counterspace. A few steps forward into the bow brings you to three staterooms. The first port-side stateroom is the main, with a double berth lots of drawer storage, a hanging locker with an area on top of it for a private TV. The main stateroom has its own private head with shower and lots of additional storage. Across the plush carpeted companionway is the second stateroom with two bunks. It shares a second head with the V-berth, which has another two single berths. All state rooms have privacy doors and generous amounts of storage. Forced air diesel heating and electric register heating keep you warm while underway or at the dock. Above the sleeping quarters, reachable from the galley area, is the pilothouse helm. A raised u-shaped settee fits several adults comfortably and is within a comfortable conversation distance behind the captain. It has a small table, perfect for cocktails, snacks or a card game. A napping platform is behind the settee and makes an extra berth at night. The centerline helm has an expansive dash, with room for a laptop or additional electronics, or even a TV. Sliding doors on port and starboard take you to either side deck or let a nice cross breeze into the pilothouse on a nice day.

 

On Deck

A transom door from the stern brings you aboard Nootka. The aft deck is roomy with high gunnels and beautiful teak wood decking. The extended flybridge provides coverage for the entire deck and she has a lovely canvass and glassine enclosure around the entire lower deck. This creates a nice garden or sunroom during the times of year when the weather is still cool. Romantic covered side decks take you to her raised pilothouse. These side decks really offer a nice place to stand and daydream as the beautiful world passes by, or for staying dry when out of a wildlife watching tour. The bow deck is easy to access through a hatch in a wall that separates the enclosed deck access from the open bow area. Railing offers safety protection for folks enjoying the large bow deck, but if you have small children or pets, you will feel so much safer keeping them within the safety of the enclosed deck space. Access the cabin roof from the cockpit ladder. This area easily accommodates her 13-foot dinghy and skiff davit with electric winch, along with any other large gear like kayaks and crab pots.

 

Engine and Mechanical

Nootka has nice newer power behind her with two 2005 135 horsepower diesel engines. With 2,700 hours on each, they have been nicely warmed up and have most of their life ahead of them. She cruises at eight knots at 1,700 rpm. Her four steel fuel tanks carry a generous total of 760 gallons of fuel and she utilizes about four gallons per hour. You can cruise for days on this beautiful girl! He also comes with a 2010 Tonhatsu 30 horsepower auxiliary engine with tiller steering. For anchoring, you have a 60-pound CQR anchor on an Ideal electric inch with 300 feet of chain. She has a Spenser hydraulic motor off the port engine which powers a 6kw Onan generator.

 

Electrical and Electronics

The helm of this beauty has a wide breadth of navigation electronics to get you to your destination and back. Starting with power needs, at the dock you can plug her into 30-amp shore power and she has an isolation transformer. She also has a Northern Lights 8kw diesel generator set with 5,200 hours on it. Navigation electronics include a Benmar autopilot, a Furuno Navnet plotter and radar, a Furuno GP-32 GPS, and two depth sounders: a Furuno FCV-588 and Coastal Navigator digital. For communications, you have a Furuno 3000 VHF and an AIS receiver. Three electric windshield wipers at each of the windshield panes provide clear visibility during inclement weather. She has new LED running lights and a nice remote control camera system for monitoring decks, aft, and the engine room. For musical entertainment, play your favorite tunes on her Pioneer AM/FM cassette stereo system.
